2022 – 2025
Sustainable and Prosperous Communities sought to increase the number of hectares under sustainable and profitable production systems with access to markets in Southeast Mexico, contributing to reduced deforestation and greenhouse gas emissions, as well as improved livelihoods for producers and community-based ecotourism providers.
WORK AREAS
In collaboration with The Nature Conservancy and TechnoServe, we strengthened social capital and technical capacities to adopt market-oriented sustainable practices through the Territorial Innovation Networks (RITER).
We supported the transition to sustainable production models by improving the commercial conditions of producers and their organizations. This was achieved through a comprehensive intervention model that provided better market access tailored to each value chain and differentiated according to the diversity of producer profiles.
We improved access to financing for producers, community nature tourism providers, and their enterprises through financial products and services designed to meet their specific needs. In addition, small grants were offered to enable strategic investments that facilitated the transition to environmentally sustainable production systems, as well as market access and financing opportunities.
