We believe small-scale agriculture can be a source of rural employment and prosperity.

Nuup (which means “connection” in the Mayan language) was founded in 2015 as a result of the Co-Creation Agenda for Inclusive Agriculture, an initiative led by Ashoka Mexico and Central America and the Walmart Foundation of Mexico, in close collaboration with the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) and Accenture.

This effort made it possible, on the one hand, to identify best practices and reach a consensus on the main challenges associated with including small farmers and social enterprises in the supply chains of large companies, and on the other, to highlight the mechanisms needed to develop inclusive sourcing channels. nvcasinobg.org

One of the Agenda’s principal recommendations was to create a platform for information, connection, and collaboration among companies, civil society organizations, funders, and small-producer organizations.

Nuup was born to make this recommendation a reality.
